CHICAGO — September 30, 2026 — AIRS Medical today announced the continued evolution of its MRI intelligence platform, bringing together advances in MRI reconstruction, workflow automation, enterprise deployment and quantitative imaging to help imaging organizations extract more performance, consistency and intelligence from the MRI infrastructure they already own.
Building on the company’s SwiftMR® AI-powered MRI reconstruction platform, AIRS Medical is extending its capabilities beyond image enhancement and scan acceleration to support a broader MRI workflow — from acquisition and post-processing to quantitative analysis and longitudinal patient assessment.
“Healthcare organizations are managing increasingly complex MRI environments, with mixed scanner fleets, growing patient demand and pressure to extract more value from existing technology investments,” said Jina Park, Chief Strategy Officer at AIRS Medical. “Our focus is to create an intelligent MRI foundation that works across those environments — improving performance today while enabling more consistent, quantitative and longitudinal imaging over time.”
Continued Expansion of SwiftMR
SwiftMR has continued to evolve through a series of platform releases focused on enterprise scalability, clinical capability and workflow efficiency.
Recent updates have included JPEG 2000 lossless compression to support efficient DICOM transfer across large scanner fleets; enhanced administrative controls for enterprise users; automated generation of MPR, MIP and ADC images; support for high b-value imaging; Auto Cut MIP functionality; and improvements in data-transfer performance.
The previously announced Auto Cut MIP capability illustrates AIRS Medical’s broader strategy of applying AI beyond image reconstruction to address repetitive post-processing tasks and improve MRI workflow efficiency.
SwiftMR has also been FDA-cleared to work with OEM deep-learning MRI solutions, enabling imaging organizations to complement existing OEM AI investments while extending AI-powered enhancement and scan-time reduction across additional sequences and body parts.
Extending MRI from Reconstruction to Quantitative Intelligence
AIRS Medical is simultaneously expanding the role of its SwiftSight® platform, beginning with SwiftSight-Brain and extending its quantitative imaging approach into additional areas of health.
SwiftSight-Brain provides AI-powered segmentation, quantitative measurement and reporting, with support for longitudinal image analysis and reproducible assessment across scanner models and field strengths.
A central component of SwiftSight-Brain is its normative database of 32,615 adults spanning ages 18 to 97, incorporating MRI data from Siemens Healthineers, GE Healthcare and Philips Healthcare scanners across both 1.5T and 3T systems.
Patient regional brain volumes are compared with age- and sex-adjusted normative distributions, providing quantitative context that can complement radiologic interpretation.
The platform is designed to help address a fundamental challenge in longitudinal quantitative MRI: distinguishing meaningful patient change from variability introduced by scanner model, field strength or imaging environment.
Expanding Quantitative MRI into Body Composition
AIRS Medical is also extending its quantitative imaging work beyond neuroimaging through the development of SwiftSight Body Composition.
The Body Composition framework uses MRI of the liver, abdomen and thigh to assess muscle and fat characteristics and provide age- and sex-relevant quantitative context.
The reporting framework includes measurements of abdominal and thigh muscle size, muscle fat infiltration, left-right muscle asymmetry, visceral and subcutaneous fat, and liver fat fraction.
MRI-based liver fat assessment adds another quantitative dimension, measuring liver fat fraction alongside muscle and adipose tissue characteristics.
Together, these capabilities reflect AIRS Medical’s broader vision for MRI as more than a source of diagnostic images — but as a platform capable of generating reproducible quantitative information that can be followed across patients, scanners and time.
“MRI contains far more information than what can be captured in a single image or examination,” said Ajit Shankaranarayanan, PhD, Chief Product Officer at AIRS Medical. “By bringing reconstruction, workflow automation and quantitative analysis together, we are building toward an MRI environment where information can be measured more consistently across scanners, anatomy and time. SwiftSight-Brain and our work in body composition are important steps toward turning MRI into a longitudinal source of actionable health information.”
Building a Broader MRI Intelligence Platform
The continued development of SwiftMR and SwiftSight reflects AIRS Medical’s broader evolution from improving individual MRI images toward creating a vendor-neutral intelligence layer across the MRI workflow.
Today, the company’s technology spans AI-powered reconstruction, workflow automation and quantitative brain imaging, while the SwiftSight portfolio is expanding into metabolic and body composition applications. Additional areas identified in AIRS Medical’s research portfolio include spine, joint, women’s and men’s health.
For imaging organizations operating heterogeneous MRI fleets, the strategy is designed to build on existing infrastructure rather than requiring intelligence to be deployed independently scanner by scanner.
“Ultimately, this is about helping imaging organizations get more from the MRI systems they already have while creating the foundation for what comes next,” Park said. “As MRI becomes increasingly quantitative and longitudinal, consistency across the imaging environment becomes essential.”
AIRS Medical will showcase its latest SwiftMR and SwiftSight innovations at RSNA 2026 in Chicago, November 29–December 2, at Booth #4921.
