Image of the Week: Brain 3D T2 FLAIR

Brain 3D T2 FLAIR

FLAIR (Fluid-Attenuated Inversion Recovery) suppresses cerebrospinal fluid signal to make white matter lesions — including periventricular plaques, small vessel disease, and cortical signals — far more conspicuous than on standard T2. It’s one of the most clinically consequential sequences in
neuroimaging, and one of the slower ones.

This acquisition was performed on a 3T Siemens Skyra. Standard protocol runs approximately 3 minutes. With SwiftMR’s deep learning enhancement applied, the acquisition completed in 1 minute.
